Integrated Care

Pacific Health Systems provides high-quality, cost-effective mental health and chemical dependency services throughout San Diego County. Our providers specialize in Primary Care, Psychiatry Services, Psychology Services, Advanced Depression Treatments, and Non-Opiate Pain Treatment. Through a continuum of behavioral health and primary care services, we’re committed to helping our patients optimize their mental health and live their best lives.

Many people find relief from major depressive disorder through antidepressants and other standard therapies. But these don’t work for everyone.
Fortunately, advancements in mental health technology have led to breakthrough treatments like transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy. TMS treatment is a non-invasive, non-drug treatment for depression that works when antidepressants don’t. The easy, painless, in-office procedure provides targeted stimulation of brain regions involved in mood regulation. San Diego patients who have suffered from depression for decades report feeling more engaged in their lives and more optimistic about the future within a few short weeks of beginning Advanced TMS Clinic, Inc. treatment.
For patients that need immediate relief from advanced depression, we also offer Ketamine treatments with the FDA approved treatment Spravato along with traditional IV Ketamine.
Intensive Outpatient Program for Mental Health in San Diego
Whether you’re struggling with the symptoms of mental illness or working to overcome an addiction, getting professional mental health treatment is a crucial step toward recovery.
While some people benefit from an inpatient residential program, many others prefer to remain in their own homes and receive support in the form of outpatient care. But sometimes, traditional outpatient services aren’t enough. Certain situations call for highly structured programs, with more intense levels of therapeutic care. If you’re in need of comprehensive, in-depth mental health treatment without the restrictions of an inpatient environment, an intensive outpatient program may be the right choice for you.
What is an intensive outpatient program?
An intensive outpatient program, or IOP, provides a structured, supportive environment for patients being treated for mental illnesses or substance abuse disorders. The goals of an IOP differ from patient to patient, but it’s often recommended for those who’ve recently been discharged from the hospital, or for those who require more help than can be given in a single weekly therapy session.
IOP services are customized to meet the needs of each patient, but can generally benefit individuals who are coping with concerns such as:
- Depression
- Anxiety disorders
- Bipolar disorder
- Eating disorders
- Self-harm
- Substance abuse
- Co-occurring mental illness and addiction
What can I expect from an intensive outpatient program?
In general, IOPs meet for three hours per day, three days per week, and run for a minimum of eight weeks. While the exact schedule and services vary depending on individual diagnoses, most programs include the following services:
What are the benefits of an intensive outpatient program?
Patients choose to pursue treatment in an intensive outpatient program for many beneficial reasons, including:
- Services available on a flexible schedule
- Maintaining participation in work or school
- Staying in contact with family and friends
- Extended relapse prevention
- Opportunities to immediately apply newly acquired skills in the real world
- Building a supportive community outside of the therapeutic setting
- A sense of personal responsibility and agency
